What's this all about?

This calculator is for Octopus Energy customers on the Intelligent Octopus Go (IOG) tariff who have multiple EVs all sharing the same charger, and the charger itself is the device linked to the IOG tariff for Smart Control rather than a car. In this scenario, a customer has to tell Octopus about one of the EVs so as they know how large the battery is - it is recommended to tell them about the one with the largest battery. If your other EVs have different battery sizes then the 'Charge to add' percentage you specify in the Octopus app will refer to the declared EV and not the other unregistered ones meaning you have to do some mental arithmetic to figure out how much you actually need to add. This calculator should make things easier - tell the calculator the battery size (in kWh) of your declared EV, the battery size of the EV you wish to charge, and what percentage of that latter EV's battery you wish to put in. The calculator will give you the 'Charge to add' value to put into the Octopus app.
